Projects Operations Manager – £35,000 per annum – Manchester

Our client, an international lead in the industry, is seeking to appoint a Projects Operations Manager to join their division base in Manchester.

As the Project Operations manager you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of projects, provision financial planning and also assisting with the day to day management of the projects.

Key Role:

  • Support Project Directors and engineering teams in managing and delivering their projects by providing assistance with financial planning and management of projects.
  • Work with Discipline Leads to maintain discipline resource and utilization reports (MOP/RUBO information), follow up any queries
  • Assist discipline leaders in managing resource allocation and utilisation, ensuring workload is balanced across discipline teams.
  • Produce project variance reports and review actual vs planned figures across projects
  • Carry out regular Project Touchdowns across engineering teams to ensure project execution plans are regularly updated in line with project milestones
  • Support finance by attending project surgeries/reviews
  • Liaising with Project Directors to agree appropriate actions to mitigate risk
  • Champion use of project management tools and support the Engineering teams in embedding best practice
  • Liaise with Project Directors about provisioning risk and claiming contingency.

Key Experience:

  • Enthusiastic individual, able to identify potential problems and suggest solutions
  • Strong communicator, persuasive and engaging with the ability to build positive relationships
  • Highly numerate with a logical approach
  • Highly organised, able to handle own time and work to deadlines
  • Excellent computer and IT skills including; especially Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of supporting a team of people, including senior managers as well as one-to-one basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to ensure tasks are completed in good time
