Utilities Project Manager

Our client who is a major Government backed construction firm are looking to recruit a Utilities Project Manager for a major construction project in North Hampshire. The project is to provide construction support and planning assistance on a major redevelopment of MOD living accommodation and quarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively manage the MUJV sub contractors.
  • Understand and manage the technical aspects of utilities and their installation.
  • Deliver margin improvement through effective cost control and contract management
  • Make decisions affecting programmes based on information from a variety of sources.
  • Effectively communicate with senior managers or directors.
  • Lead a site team of 4 to 6 people.
  • Willingness to accept delivery responsibility.
  • Influence and motivate stakeholders within a complex environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • CIS Experience.
  • Holder of a Professional membership to post-graduate equivalent level, of a recognised body in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (e.g. CIOB, ICE).
  • Experience with Project planning and monitoring techniques.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Advanced spreadsheets skills.
  • Good team player, also able to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively other members of the team and to manage relationships with other departments.
  • Ability to display initiative and work well in an environment of change.
