A well-established mechanical and electrical contractor are seeking an experienced Contracts Director to join their team in Essex. Focusing on both residential and commercial projects, this is a key hire for the business to support their contracts management team as they continue their structured growth plans.
The Contracts Director
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will take the lead over a team of Contracts Manager. You will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects across London and the surrounding counties. Seeing projects through from tender to final account, you will help keep a close control over costs, procure large equipment, negotiate contract/technical issues and undertake monthly contract variations. You will also provide ongoing support to your team with client liaison,
You will also play a keen role in mentoring more junior staff in developing both their skills and ensuring strict health and safety practices are maintained.
Working with a number of leading main contractors and residential developers, you will also be tasked with maintaining strong working relationships with clients and potential new customers with a view of securing repeat business. The company take pride in the business relationships they have built so far, but are keen to add to their client base over the coming years.
Working hours are generally 8am till 5pm.

With a turnover in excess of £50 million and growing steadily, they have an excellent reputation and continue to win repeat business from recognised clients within residential construction in The City. Experience and Qualifications
A track record in an operations management/senior management role
Excellent technical knowledge of residential and commercial builds – Mechanical bias preferred, but electrical considered
Ideally you will have a formal technical qualification – I.e. HNC/HND or degree, but those qualified through experience are definitely considered
Excellent communication skills to communicate with your teams, staff, clients and consultants
Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise your workload
The successful candidate can expect to receive an annual salary of up to £75,000 p.a. depending on experience with a tailored travel package, health insurance, a contributory pension, 25 days annual leave and a performance related bonus scheme.
