These will include, but not be limited to:
¨ The specification, design, & documentation of systems & components.
¨ The specification, design & documentation of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
¨ The specification, selection & procurement of materials & services.
¨ Possess an excellent understanding of engineering principles & technologies applicable to the
Oil & Gas Industry.
¨ Be familiar with the relevant APIs, & other industry standards (DNV, IECEx and ATEX), to a level necessaryto guide the company in their application.
¨ Be proficient in the use of CAD packages to produce design models & manufacturing drawings.
¨ To provide material costing information for project quotes & able to assess the cost & time implications of design decisions.
¨ To produce Bills of Material.
¨ Electrical interface design including cable schedules, termination details and cable layout diagrams.
¨ Instrumentation on selection loop diagrams, PLC / SCADA I/O list, instrumentation on index, logic diagrams and panel design.
¨ To perform conceptual and / or detailed design of instruments / control system application.
¨ To be able to perform cable and voltage drop calculation and prepare data sheets
¨ At all times to be conscious of material & labour costs associated with any projects undertaken & seek to actively minimise these costs.
¨ The production, execution & analysis of Test specifications.
¨ To author Operations Manuals, Maintenance procedures & other Technical documents.
¨ The application of Industry standards to all engineering & project activities undertaken.
¨ To liaise with Clients, suppliers & peers during normal day-to-day activities.
¨ To carry out offshore surveys, installation, commissioning & fault finding services.
¨ To oversee Junior Engineers & Technicians during design, manufacturing & testing activities.
¨ To actively follow the companies QA/Engineering procedures, policies & working instructions.
¨ To work with the company to highlight deficiencies in EFC products & failures to meet recognised standards.
¨ Have good abilities with desktop computers, specifically Microsoft Office packages.
¨ Technical report writing.
¨ Report directly to the Engineering Manager on aspects of the team’s projects, raising any issues which could affect delivery or budget.
¨Review Engineering documentation.
¨ Quality Assurance & Company procedures: To actively promote & help develop the companies QA/Engineering procedures, policies & working instructions.
¨ Engineering: To be the lead engineering authority within the team. To take an active role in the completion of engineering tasks. To approve material purchases on Projects undertaken within the Team up to an agreed value, typically £2,500.
¨ New Team Members: Support new team members in working through induction programme; ensure that they have the necessary knowledge to effectively participate in the team.
¨ Motivation and Mentoring: Provide a technical lead in the support, encouragement and mentoring of team members.
¨ Providing ongoing support and development of team members through regular feedback, performance reviews and support through the Competence Framework.
¨ Team Working: Maintain a healthy group dynamic and promoting a team culture.
¨ Team Communication: To take the lead on adherence to company standards & procedures. To chair team design review & verification meetings
¨Assist in the technical development of Project Engineers & Technicians through a system of support & guidance.
¨ Problem Solving: Directly support team members to resolve engineering problems and assist in escalating technical issues to the Engineering/Technical Manager. Offer solutions to any problems that may arise.
¨ Complies with all company procedures applicable to the job function.
