M&E Contracts Manager

A well-established, privately owned mechanical and electrical building services contractor are looking for an experienced M&E Contracts Manager to lead a team delivering multiple commercial fitout and retail projects across London and the South East.

M&E Contracts Manager

Reporting to the Operations Directors, the role will see you play a key part in running the account for a long-term client. You will have oversight over a team of 8+ staff comprising of Project Managers, a Quantity Surveyor and a Document Controller.

With support from the senior management team, you will be responsible for both the operational and financial aspects of the client account. You will assist seeing projects through their full life cycle, lead and motivate your team, assist with tenders, and ensure a strong working relationship is maintained with the client.

With the office based on the Kent/South London border, you will be in the office 2-3 days per week, and spend time out across various projects and with clients as needed. Working hours are generally 8am till 5pm, with occasional requirements to work beyond this to meet the requirements of the role.

The Company

Established for over 25 years, they are an expanding contractor in Mechanical and Electrical services working across the UK with a number of leading Main Contractors. With a turnover of over £30 million and growing steadily, they have an excellent reputation and continue to win repeat business from clients with whom they have strong relationships. Turning over around £25m per annum with around 60 direct staff, the company have the opportunity to continue to expand steadily and are enjoying a very busy order book. Offices are based on the South London/Kent border, with a number of mobile Project Managers from the South Coast through to the South Midlands.

Experience

You will ideally have a track record leading teams to complete multiple projects on time and to budget

Knowledge of the full project life cycle with strong working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical services

Ideally mechanical bias, but client won’t rule out electrical bias

Experience of both commercial fitout and retail projects

Strong communication and leadership skills

Industry relevant qualifications – I.e. Degree qualifications/HNC advantageous, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, CSCS

Remuneration

The successful candidate can expect to receive a salary of up to £65,000 p.a. with a company car allowance, paid mileage, a contributory pension, 25 days annual leave (including three days for Christmas shutdown), a company phone and laptop, and a discretionary bonus.
