Mechanical Construction Manager

A tier one mechanical and electrical contractor are looking for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager for a project in Surrey, on the border with South London. The project is a mix of commercial fit out and health care.

The Mechanical Construction Manager

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will take the lead day-to-day ensuring projects are delivered to expectations. You will be site-based managing multiple teams and coordinating works alongside a team of Charge Hands. You will ensure that high standards are maintained, both for quality of work and for site health and safety. You will also help produce reports on site activity, progress and help resolve any technical issues.

The project will be a mix of commercial fit out and health care. This will include plant room installation, services for new laboratories and services for new office space. As such, experience of leading teams on large plant, pipework and ductwork installation will be very useful.

Experience and Qualifications

At least 5 years in similar role

A background in commercial or health care projects

Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ, HNC, HND or Degree advantageous, but not essential)

Relevant site qualifications including SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid at Work and CSCS

Natural leadership and communication skills

Ideally, you will be from a trade background


The successful candidate can expect to receive an annual salary of up to £60,000 p.a. depending on experience with travel expenses, a 3% contributory pension, 23 days annual leave and a discretionary bonus.

While this project is in Surrey, there are future projects in London and the Home Counties.
