Mechanical Contracts Manager
A successful regional mechanical contractor based in Oxfordshire are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager or Mechanical Project Manager to join their team. Focusing on residential and domestic projects between £100k to £1.5M, this is a relatively mobile role providing support to project teams across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
The Mechanical Contracts Manager
Working closely with the company owner, you will be the lead manager for all mechanical matters within the business. Split between the office in Oxfordshire and various sites in the region, you will manage multiple projects ensuring targets for handovers are met, keep close control over project finances and ensure projects are delivered to satisfaction.
Duties will include short term programming, site logistics, managing engineers and subcontractors, ordering materials, providing technical advice and keeping a close eye on project spend to ensure profitability. You will also provide regular progress reports, provide mentorship for junior staff and ultimately help keep the teams focused and motivated.

Currently turning over in excess of £5M a year, they have lots of repeat business with clients who focus on residential and domestic works. With a relatively flat management structure, you will be able to see a visible impact you can make personally and will be encouraged to suggest positive changes.
Experience and Qualifications
A strong background in domestic and residential projects, particularly within heating and water services
Previous experience managing multiple projects – Ideally with budgets in excess of £1M total
A proven record as a Mechanical Project or Mechanical Contracts Manager – Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience
Leadership and communication skills – Must be able to communicate and develop relationships with staff and clients alike
Formal qualifications such as relevant degrees, HNC/HND or City and Guilds advantageous
Ideally you will hold an SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid and CSCS certifications
You could expect to receive a basic salary of up to £55,000 p.a. with a fully expensed company vehicle with fuel card, company phone, company tablet computer, and an annual bonus.
